I'm up on the blog with another feature from the Kindred Stamps September Release!
Today's set features Magical Fairies and is incredibly adorable. In my experience, there are two types of fairy stamps: elegant/realistic and cutsie/cartoonish. This set beautifully meets in the middle and is perfect for creating cards for all ages! I'm also head over heals for the script used in the sentiments! Check out my card and you'll see what I mean!
I started by painting my 3.75 x 5 inch white cardstock card front with Wilted Violet and Broken China Distress Oxide Ink, using a Clarity Brush. I then used a Mixed Media Clarity Stencil and using a sponge dauber, layered on some Cracked Pistachio Oxide Ink. I then hit my card base with my heat gun for good measure.
I then layed out all of the stamps I planned to use from this new set onto my card front to get the perfect placement. I picked them up with my MISTI, and using Versafine, inked them up and stamped all images in one go! (God Bless the MISTI and her creator).
I first attempted to color in the fairies with colored pencils because I wasn't sure how markers would react with the Oxide ink. When my Prismas didn't give me the desired color, I held my breath and tried my alcohol markers. The alcohol markers pushed the ink around a bit, but I was happy with the overall boldness of them and completed coloring my image using my Spectrum Noirs.
I colored in the gold stars using Wink of Luna and applied a layer of Spectrum Clear Glitter to the fairy wings.
The card front is mounted onto some fun patterned paper and mounted onto a white A2 card base.
I love the single layer look of this card and can't wait to use this stamp set from Kindred Stamps again and again!
